Card making....

I have been a crafter since a little girl.
My mum was a beautiful crafter, and could turn her hands to most things....
When i took ill in 1995 and found i couldnt do as much as really wanted too. So i was watching dawn bibby on C&Cand thought that looks easy...
Sent away for card pack and the rest is history lol
I do my own type of Parchment.
I am a colourist at heart
and i love to stamp and colour.
So my hands are very seldom not working away at something.
My health is not good, so crafting happens when i am feeling well.....but you can colour from bed as i have found....lol
A lot of disabled people craft....it is good for the soul....amen
I hope you enjoy my makes...

Hip to be square

August with Lost Coast Designs

Hip to be Square - 23rd August 2016

I am delighted to be asked back to Guest for Lost Coast Design
August Event is called Hip to be square!!!!

So took a little while to work this out.
As i dont have a lot of LCD stamps and i like the idea
of having to make something out of nothing....
 I had a very clever crafty Mum who could make something out
of nothing , or not much.
But of course i managed and i hope you like my idea...
Myself i thought it was a bit funky....with only one small stamp.

So here we go..

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Materials
One 6"x6" White Card
One, 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" scalloped square
Bits of  spare White card to use for bases of words
One Word Stamp......"Hope"
One black stamp pad
Some black jewels
Promarkers to colour the stamped words.
Sharp Scissors.
Small Teardrop  grey chalk ink..
Glue stick
How to make up card.
Using the Glue Stick, i placed the Hope Stamp onto a small acrylic block.
Then I started by stamping out the word "Hope" in vertical sets of three.
Making sure they were exactly placed vertically correct, not an
easy job...lol.
Then Picking out the best for the project in hand.
Using my small sharp scissors  i cut them into four single words..
and also a set of three still attached together..
The i used my Promarkers and coloured them in the same sequence..
Then i  took the larger scalloped Square Silver Square and glued it to
the inside edge of the card.
Placed the four single words around the inside of the square.
(Across, down, Across and up)
Placing the set of three onto a base card
And then framed it with the smaller Scalloped Silver Square..
I made this stand proud of the work
by doubling up depth of the sticky pads...
The using the Silver/Grey Chalk Ink i went around the outside
edge of the card....just to outline it..
Lastly adding a small black jewel to every second scallop making sure
one was in each corner...
So here is the final project.
It took a bit of thinking out...but i was pleased with the end result...
i.e.  A Square made with one word stamp..
Thank you for visiting...
